How has the CEM designation helped in your career?
The CEM designation helps trade show professionals to further their knowledge about this industry, and get cross-trained on items outside of your department or expertise.
Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?
It is important to stay ahead of trade show trends, network with like-minded professionals, and understand all aspects of organizing events.
What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?
There really is no other certificate or degree that focuses on trade show organizing, and I wanted to take my education and career one step further with the CEM program. I feel as though the CEM program makes trade show professionals more credible and helps to advance careers.
What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?
I highly recommend the CEM program to all! It is a great program that not only provides you resources and industry knowledge but also gives trade show professionals a sense of community.
How did you start your career in this industry?
I began as an intern at NAB, where I first learned about the industry and loved it! I then went on to officially begin my career at PMMI (PACK EXPO).
How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?
The classes helped me to better understand what many of my coworkers deal with in their departments, while also providing innovative ideas to me about exhibit sales and planning.
What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?
I updated my Linkedin profile!
What did you like most about the CEM Learning Program?
I liked hearing about other shows and their fun ideas, and I loved the opportunity to network and meet other trade show professionals.
Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I am addicted to traveling and exploring new places!
