I am able to continue to grow within my role as well as learn about different areas of the industry. I can bring new ideas to the table and help implement new strategies
Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?
I think by maintaining your CEM it will allow for you to stay current on industry issues as well as network with other CEM’s to brainstorm ideas and trends.
What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?
I wanted to further my career in the events and exhibitions industry and getting my CEM was a great step moving forwards
What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?
It is worth the time and investment! You not only learn about the industry but you do make “virtual” peers and can really learn from others from the different roles we all have.
How did you start your career in this industry?
I started with wedding planning, moved into non-profit, and now in association.
How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?
I have been able to take the knowledge from the CEM program and use it with my internal team as well as made more connections with vendors.
What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?
I told my boss! She was so supportive during the whole process!
What did you like most about the CEM Learning Program?
I enjoyed the content as well as the instructors. I thought hearing back from peers on the topics was a great way to learn about the different areas we all work in.
Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I was born without a sense of smell.
