How long have you been an IAEE member? 15 years
IAEE Chapter: DFW
How did you start your career in this industry?
One of my high school summer jobs was working at a graphics shop – for three months I made 1,000 double-side chloroplast yard signs for the Ross Perot presidential election.
How has IAEE shaped your career?
I got involved quite late in my career, but after earning my CEM in 2015, I realized that I had not been taking advantage of the tremendous networking opportunities within the local and national level. I joined the DFW Chapter Board of Directors in 2016, joined the CEM Commission shortly after becoming a CEM Faculty member, and in 2019 earned my CEM-AP. I am remiss to not have gotten involved sooner, as my career has grown more in the last 5 years than the previous 15!
What advice would you give to a new member?
GET INVOLVED! IAEE has so much to offer, and you can grow your career exponentially by engaging in local chapter activities and meeting tons of new people at Expo! Expo! every year.
Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
Most people know I play guitar. Only a few people know that I have a unique set list of 80’s & 90’s tv sitcom & commercial tunes!
What do you like most about your chapter?
I love the people, the friends, and the colleagues I’ve meet through the Board and various chapter activities over the years.
What do you like most about Expo! Expo!?
I love working & attending Expo! Expo! because it’s like that “once-a-year summer camp” experience where you see folks & friends and get to connect, network, and build cherished memories and experiences.
