¿Cómo ha ayudado la designación CEM en su carrera?
It really validated and reinvigorated my passion for what we do. Sometimes I think we can get isolated working in our very specific channels and industries. It’s been wonderful to network and exchange ideas with the best in the industry – people who are not only invested in working to make their events the best they can be, but also invested in bettering themselves by pursuing the CEM designation.

Maintaining the CEM is one way I can visibly show my commitment to the industry and demonstrate my desire to continuously improve.
¿Qué te hizo querer obtener tu designación CEM?
I kept meeting people I admired who had it attached to the end of their name. Danielle Fayad is the one who pushed me over the edge, but there were quite a few names in a short amount of time that spurred me to take a closer look.
¿Qué consejo le darías a un aspirante que quiera postularse al programa CEM?
Start with one class – just take that next step and you’ll be more than rewarded and motivated to keep going!
¿Cómo comenzaste tu carrera en esta industria?
I was recruited after working in real estate and restaurants for my early working years. The recruiter said they looked for those two backgrounds specifically because you knew you’d be getting a candidate who could conceptually sell space and also have the stamina necessary to work the long hours and do what it takes to make it long term.
¿Cómo ha marcado la diferencia con su exposición o al trabajar con un cliente al aplicar el conocimiento que adquirió al obtener su designación CEM?
I’d say I feel much more confident addressing challenges within my show and together with clients or colleagues in partnership. I feel armed and ready for anything knowing I have such a supportive and informed community behind me.
¿Qué fue lo que hiciste o implementaste inmediatamente después de obtener tu CEM?
Our company recently launched imc_di, a digital innovations offshoot of our company that will be producing even more year-round opportunities for our buyers and sellers to connect outside of the live events. I’ve started my work on the CEM-AP coursework and am using the digital innovations platform as my thesis, using it as an opportunity to explore how our live event can grow and capitalize on those efforts. I’m proud that its something we’re taking on in such a smart and strategic way whereas I’ve seen some companies really fear and push aside technology, fearful that it might replace the event itself. Excited that we’re fully embracing it and looking forward to presenting it to the CEM community as well as part of this project.
¿Qué es lo que más te gustó del Programa de Aprendizaje CEM?
The people by far – both the fellow students and instructors. I learned everything you’d expect from the course names, but lots of unexpected things too.
Dato curioso sobre ti: ¿Qué es lo que la mayoría de la gente no sabe sobre ti?
I can make balloon animals, a mean martini and a killer playlist. I’m a triple threat for any party.
